Introduction
Spices is popular for its diversified and authentic Asian cuisine, tasteful eastern design and delightful garden setting. It was opened in 1987 in the colonial building that replaced the Repulse Bay Hotel and is now known as The Repulse Bay. High ceilings and sweeping arches crown an interior of natural wood and pastel coloured walls, extending outside to a sun-washed patio. It is a perfect venue for casual dining, themed social or business gatherings or just a memorable dinner.Parking is also available. continue reading

For diversified and authentic Thai cuisine done right, Spices is one of the best choices in Repulse Bay, with contemporary indoor and outdoor seating. I like eating outside at restaurants that have pleasant spaces for enjoying the sunshine and fresh air. I've tried a lot of different foods here, let me point out some of them. For the starter, Pomelo Salad (HKD138) and Prawn Cakes (HKD108) were defo so good. The salad was mixed with juicy citrus, herbs, tomato, crab meat, and sweet spicy dressing. What a refreshing salad. The Prawn Cakes were crunchy on the outside and super chewy on the inside, cooked to golden perfection and served with Thai sweet chili. You just can't miss out a bowl of Tom Yam Kung Soup (HKD126) for having Thai food. The soup was really rich with a perfect balance of flavors, cooked with fresh prawns. Salmon Tikka (HKD119) was my favorite main course. The salmon was cooked to perfection. It tasted juicy, moist, and so tender! Makhani Murgh (HKD133) is a classic butter chicken. That incredible curry sauce was perfect to eat with Garlic Naan (HKD58). All in all, here is a good place to spend a cozy weekend. I highly recommend adding a free-flow package, the Thai-inspired cocktails and mocktails both are so good!- Beef Satay (HKD80)- Morning Glory (HKD66)- Dessert Platter (HKD188) continue reading

We went to this restaurant quite often before but have not been there for a while, we came today for a leisure lunch and have ordered five dishes.  Honest to say, the quality was not as good as before.Quite interesting is the Tung Yam Kung Soup was very sweet and when the waiter routinely asked us if the food was good, I told him that the soup is surprisingly sweet and was not the same taste I previously enjoyed. He answered politely "Yes, we added sweetness to the soup.  In fact, we  can customise sweetness in all our dishes.  Next time, when you order Tung Yam Kung Soup, you can request less sweet."After hearing his suggestion, I first thought of telling him more of my comment -  the Crab Meat and Pomelo Salad had only few shredded crab, Thai Green Curry with Barramundi was too salty......I better not commented more. continue reading

Hugh patio that seats many, covered with parasols, so no worries with showers. It makes a romantic getaway for couples. I bet at night it's even better,  with ocean breeze, perfect sunset and dim lights. A welcome place for novelists to get inspiration for sure. Or pretend you are a Hollywood A-lister. My point is the atmosphere is great. Back to our main focus, the foods. We has the platter with satays (beef and chicken) , shrimp balls and somosa (vegs) , on their own they were great, but with its paired sauces, it made excellent appetizers to savor Spice's classic dishes. Then we ordered Butter Chicken (originated from London). It was buttery, chicken was tendered, the sauce excellent. I tasted chestnut. We paired it with Naan, or you could have it with Basmati rice. While it used to be Repulse Bay hotel and used in many movies settings, it remains a place-to-be.   continue reading
